I found this picture and thought I would share it with the folks that are new to slide climbing/bushwhacking! This was taken after pushing through about 1 mile of dense spruce.
We exited a slide on Giant Mountain in the Adirondacks last year and fought our way up a ridge. The day before our climb it rained and the slide was very wet and poorly navigable. This was NOT a planned exit. We still had a whale of a good time!
The lesson here: Always carry pants on bushwhacking trips.
